This is my first year as a licensed school counselor and I feel fortunate to have all the opportunities that I have had at Arlington already. I work closely with students in the Bio Business and Marketing career pathway. While it's my first year in counseling, I'm no stranger to working with high school students. During the Summers when I was in college, I worked as a wilderness counselor to students visiting Flathead Lake near Glacier National Park in Montana. Most of my professional life after that has revolved around college admissions counseling. I started at my alma mater, Concordia College in Moorhead, MN where I wore many hats, eventually ending up as an Assistant Director of Admissions. After that I got to work downtown in Minneapolis at MCTC. I helped many students; including those interested in the Power of You Program. All of that and my professional development opportunities with the Minnesota Association of Counselors for College Admission have led me to this new opportunity. During the Summer of 2008 I earned my Masters degree in School Counseling from the University of Wisconsin, River Falls. In addition to my counseling responsibilities, I advise the student government here.
