Mayor Chris Coleman was invited by Social Studies teacher Colleen
Beagan to speak to all economic students on May 5th. The mayor was
asked about how the city of Saint Paul makes decisions about the
budget, how taxes are collected and spent, how the current downturn in
the economy has effected the city, education, crime, the environment,
and many other topics. Students asked pre- arranged questions and then
were able to ask some of their own questions.
Over 100 students, all of
who were respectful and a wonderful reflection on the high caliber of
students at Arlington, attended the event.
