Joyce Vavoulis, special education
I am a teacher for eleventh and twelfth grade students with learning disabilities.   This is my ninth year at Arlington, and really enjoy the challenges of helping students figure out how they learn.  I have a BA in special education and a Master's Degree in education, and have just recently earned my licensure as a reading specialist.
I currently teach two periods of READ 180 and a study skills class. The study skills class is focused primarily on practicing study strategies for mainstream biology.  I spend two periods doing inclusion with students in their mainstream classes, assisting with projects, assignments, vocabulary development and testing.
