 | | | | | WCCO Television Studio (4-30-09) Video Production Students Tour WCCO-TV Studio
On Thursday April 29th, Arlington students who are a part of the BioEngineering & Technology pathway went on a "behind the scenes" tour of the WCCO TV studio. These students are also enrolled in a video production class at Arlington BioSMART. The purpose of the visit was to show students what a professional TV studio looks like, the level and degree of technological equipment contained in the studio as well as the planning and preparation that goes into producing a thirty minute news show.
The tour included the newsroom where the stories are put together after the reporters return from the field, the studio where the anchors, spots and weather people work that you see on the nightly broadcast. In addition, students toured the editing and control room(s) where the video and sound engineers bring the reporters stories to life and then broadcast them to our homes.
Students were able to ask questions along the way and investigate the many careers connected with the broadcasting industry.
Thanks to WCCO-TV for inviting our AHS students to participate in this great learning experience. Special thanks to Kari of WCCO who facilitated our tour!
