| Ms. Hastings |  | Hello, my name is Sheri Hastings and I teach English Language Arts as part of the Bio-business and Marketing department. I have been teaching in St. Paul for ten years. This has allowed me to experience all secondary grade levels and all aptitudes in my classroom. This is my second year at Arlington. Previously I have taught at:

- Washington Jr. High

I grew up in White Bear Lake and graduated from University of Minnesota, Mankato. I have known since I was sixteen years old that I wanted to be a teacher. My degree licensure is in English and Public Speaking. It is my belief that teaching students to communicate to and with the world: who they are, where they are going and what they have to offer is the most important gift I can give them. Currently I am teaching Advanced Placement Literature and World Literature.
I have a daughter whom was adopted from Ukraine in 2002. She is in first grade this year and is the joy of my life. I also have two Siberian Huskies (Lilu and Loki) and a cat (Tigger).
I enjoy spending as many days of summer as possible at our cabin in northern Wisconsin taking naps in the hammock and inner tubing down the river. Since that is such a small number of our Minnesotan days, I also love traveling. I have enjoyed Jamaica, Italy, Key West, Cancun, Poland, Ukraine and Amsterdam in the last few years. I hope to see most of the world in my lifetime. I am a veracious reader and mostly enjoy historical fiction.
