The goal of the art department is to explore self expression, improve observation skills, and develop creative problem solving skills through the visual arts.  The students will learn to communicate their ideas through the use of a visual language  known as the elements of art and the principles of design.  The students

by the current staff members of the art department.  Each teacher has autonomy on specific assignments, but the core concepts of class remain constant.
The students learn the artistic process of several different media, the elements of art, the of design, and the process of a class critique.
